Dottie's Pond

Dottie's pond is located at the Bernal-Gulnac ranch by our new place. Dottie's pond has a long history.
A long ass time ago many of the locals Injuns, the Ohlone, were experiencing a mysterious illness. It was most likely due to them using Cinebar, the ore mercury is extracted from to paint themselves up for ceremonies. A mysterious Lady in Black appeared to them and told the chief to fire an arrow up in the air and where is landed they would find the cure. So the chief shoots the arrow up in the air and it lands on a rock splitting it open. The Ohlone used this spring water to cure themselves.

Centuries later, the Bernal family had their ranch on this same land. The water from the spring flowed into a little pond they used as a swimming hole. Their daughter Dottie was swimming in the pond when a giant hand reached out of the depths and pulled her down which drowned her.

There's a bunch of turtles in there. Them's good eatins...

There was a doll floating in the pond. Was it a sacrifice to appease the angry giant hand? ...
