I had to drop the kid off with his dad in Sac-a-tomatoes for Thanksgiving. On the way home I stopped by Las Trampas Wilderness Are in the hills above San Ramon for a short walk. After hiking up, I ended up in a cool trail that led right across the peek of a mountain.

Sunnyvale Baylands
Sweeney Ridge
About two months ago Jacob's dad was visiting San Francisco for a few days. On Saturday I had to drop Melissa off at work, drive the kid to his Dad in SF, and then pick up Melissa at work later that night. I needed to find something to keep the pup and myself occupied all day so we went for a long walk. After searching the internets for dog friendly parks I settled on Sweeney Ridge off 280. It was a paved trail up a mountain to a Cold War era Nike missile station. It is also the spot where the first Europeans sited the San Francisco Bay.
A view of South San Francisco..
Not part of the missile site, just some antenna...
The trail cuts through some very thick chaparral. It must have been a very tough trek from the Pacific Oceanup to the top of the mountain....
The Pacific Ocean is down there somewhere....
Now the good stuff....
